A Harare magistrate postponed judgment in a case in which Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) Glen View lawmaker Grandmore Hakata and 39 other party members face charges of holding an unsanctioned car rally in Harare.
Harare magistrate Dennis Mangosi, who stood in for his counterpart Sharon Rakafa, who is on leave, deferred judgment to July 18.
The CCC members are represented by Kudzai Kadzere from the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights.
Hakata and his alleged accomplices were arrested in August last year while holding what police said was an illegal electoral campaign road show at Machipisa shopping centre in Highfield.
Prosecutors say they had notified authorities about a campaign rally at Churu Farm, but they diverted from the planned location which caused their arrest.
The 40 missed election day in August last year after they were held for the offence before languishing in jail for over a month.
