A Harare man, who was dragged to the civil court by his wife on Friday turned the tables on her claiming that their matrimonial problems were stemming from the way she mistreated their minor children.

Lameck Ndava told Harare magistrate Johanna Mukwesha that his wife Enia Pise was in the habit of assaulting their children and overloading them with house chores.

He said Pise was once summoned by social workers at the children’s welfare department after she thoroughly assaulted their son, who is in Grade 7.

Ndava said the child is also forced to do all house chores before and after school which had been affecting his studies.

He also told the court that efforts to restrain Pise leads to insults.

However, Pise denied the allegations adding that she needed protection from Ndava who was chasing her away from their matrimonial home.

Mukwesha granted Pise the protection order.
