Epworth North Member of Parliament Zivai Mhetu has promised to turn around the fortunes of his constituency.
Speaking at a recently held Thank you Rally in Epworth at Overspill shops Mhetu stated that during his term in office he would make sure that the name of his constituency will be mentioned in the same light as that of Borrowdale.
"We want the people of Epworth to have the opportunities as those that the people of areas like Borrowdale are getting. We are tired of getting denied opportunities just because we are from Epworth" Mhetu said.
Mhetu outlined his development goals that he will be focusing on during his 5 year term in office. Construction of a community hall, new roads, health and water sanitation are some of the key areas that the Member of Parliament will be looking to tackle.
“I want to promise you that by the end of my term, Epworth would have developed, every Epworth resident would be shining, Epworth will not be looked down upon by anyone again." Mhetu said
As a show of appreciation and gratitude for the election turnout Honourable Zivai Mhetu held a raffle draw to conclude the events of the day. Mhetu mentioned that the draw was a way of giving back for the support that he and opposition leader Nelson Chamisa got in the election.
Mhetu said "We would like to thank you for the support during the election, this draw is a way of giving back with the little I have to show my gratitude to you my Constituency"
A celebatory fun filled event which was attended by over 2500 people with residents getting a range of prices. The crowd was treated to music from Epworth North upcoming musicians.
