Briefs: Man kills father, burns corpse

Mashonaland Central police spokesperson Inspector Milton Mundembe said Mind Chinyemba of Plot Number 6 Omeath Farm has since been arrested on murder charges

A 20-year-old Mvurwi man allegedly stoned his 61-year-old father to death before burning his copse.

Mashonaland Central police spokesperson Inspector Milton Mundembe said Mind Chinyemba of Plot Number 6 Omeath Farm has since been arrested on murder charges

“I can confirm a murder case in Mvurwi where Mind Chinyemba stoned his father to death before burning his body beyond recognition,” Mundembe said.

“The suspect is believed to be mentally challenged.”

He said Mind went to his father Ringson Changa house and found his other son Kenny there.

Mundembe said the accused told Kenny that he wanted to kill his father for allegedly killing his friend.

Kenny did not take him seriously and went on to do his gardening chores.

The accused saw Ringson and started assaulting him, leaving him for dead.

On his way to the garden, Kenny passed through Chinyemba’s homestead and found his body still burning.

He alerted the late Chinyemba’s daughter Monica who reported the case to the police leading to the arrest of Mind.
