Granny gets protection against grandson

News
Harare civil court

An elderly woman could not hold back tears of joy at the Harare civil court on Friday after she was granted a protection order against her grandson.

Magistrate Sharon Mashavira ordered Character Rayisi to stop visiting Sarah Rayisi’s house and to desist from physically assaulting her.

Rayisi said Character had been tormenting and threatening to evict her from her house.

“He has become problematic claiming that he is the rightful owner of my house because he assumes that it belongs to his late grandfather," she submitted.

“I met his grandfather while I already owned that stand and my two children built the house for me.”

Her grandson did not oppose the peace order and promised to move out.
