A 49-year-old Bulawayo woman hanged herself in her bedroom after sending her house maid to buy sleeping tablets in the city centre.

Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube said Mandazi Moyo (49) was found hanging from a roof truss by the maid at their house in Magwegwe West.

The woman did not leave a suicide note and it is not yet known why she took her own life.

Ncube urged members of the public to seek counselling when they face problems to avoid suicidal tendencies.
