Juvenile (15) raped at knife point

The complainant is the accused person’s cousin aged 15, who is in Form 2.

A 25-YEAR-OLD man from Chief Sitaudze’s area recently appeared before a Beitbridge Magistrate facing a rape charge and will be back in court today for trial.

The complainant is the accused person’s cousin aged 15, who is in Form 2.

Allegations are that on December 31 last year, the complainant was left at home with two other minors in the care of the accused person.

The next morning, the complainant woke up to find the accused caressing her and she screamed for help.

The accused threatened the complainant with a kitchen knife before he carried her outside and threw her on the ground.

Another cousin heard the commotion and tried to intervene, but was allegedly threatened with the knife and he ran away.

The accused dragged the complainant to a nearby bush, where he caressed her with one hand while the other was holding the knife.

He allegedly undressed the complainant before raping and ordering her to run back home.

The complainant narrated her ordeal to her mother over the phone and the case was reported to the police, leading to the man’s arrest.
