POLICE in Masvingo are investigating a case of armed robbery which occurred on Monday at a money transfer outlet in Ngundu, where the suspects got away with US$46 349 and 924 100 rand.
According to a police statement, the suspects were armed with pistols.
“Four male suspects who were wielding pistols confronted a teller who works at the money transfer shop. The teller was on his way home after he had finished work,” the police said.
They said the suspects frog-matched the teller to the outlet where they ordered him to open a safe before taking US$46 349 and R924 100.
Robberies at banks and money transfer outlets across the country are on the rise with robbers often getting away with the heinous crime.
Police called on anyone with information on the whereabouts of the suspects to report at the nearest police station, adding that it would assist in the apprehension of the suspects.
