A bogus Central Intelligence Organisation officer is in hot soup after he allegedly duped a villager of his money.
Holman Mapinduka was dragged to the Plumtree magistrates courts last Wednesday where he appeared before Joshua Nembaware.
Nembaware granted him $50 bail and remanded the matter to November 18.
Prosecutor Selestine Madziwa alleged that Mapinduka approached the complainant Delan Gwinyai Rutsitso from October 1 to November 1 demanding bribe money.
According to the State, the bribe money was for his protection from the President's office to undertake his businesses without trouble.
The complainant paid him some money, but became suspicious when Mapinduka demanded a further US$900 saying he wanted to appease the bosses.
A police report was filed leading to the arrest of the accused.
