Top Zanu PF official robbed

The matter came to light at the Plumtree magistrates courts last Thursday when Ayanda Ncube (25), Polite Moyo(22) and Colman Ndlovu (30) appeared before magistrate Joshua Nembaware facing robbery charges.

Zanu PF’s Bulilima district coordinating committee chairperson was allegedly robbed by three men, who accused him of reneging on his promise to give them a soccer kit after they won a tournament he had organised.

The matter came to light at the Plumtree magistrates courts last Thursday when Ayanda Ncube (25), Polite Moyo(22) and Colman Ndlovu (30) appeared before magistrate Joshua Nembaware facing robbery charges.

Nembaware remanded the trio in custody to September 3.

Prosecutors alleged that on August 10, the trio stormed a butchery owned by the DCC chairperson, Felix Ncube, demanding their soccer kit which they had won at the tournament.

Ncube allegedly told them that the guest of honour, Moses Langa, had not given him the soccer kit.

This allegedly infuriated the trio who threatened to beat him up.

Ncube went outside his shop to seek help, and the trio took advantage of his absence to ransack his shop and steal US$14 and 300 rand from the till.

They also forcibly took his cellphone.
