A 34-YEAR-OLD rank marshal from Nkulumane 12 in Bulawayo has been arrested for attempted murder after he stabbed a fellow tout in a fight for passengers.

Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the arrest of Saul Ncube, who is a rank marshal at Nkulumane Complex, in connection with the attempted murder case.

He said on July 7 this year, Ncube had a misunderstanding with a colleague over passengers.

“Ncube queried why the complainant was loading passengers outside the terminus on an unregistered motor vehicle,” the police spokesperson said.

He said an altercation ensued, resulting in Ncube stabbing the other tout with an Okapi knife once on the left side of the abdomen and once on the left palm.

A police report was made, leading to Ncube’s arrest, while the victim was taken to Mpilo Central Hospital for medical attention.
