Byo family sends SOS

A FAMILY from Pumula South in Bulawayo has sent an SOS begging for food and other resources after losing its belongings in an inferno recently.

A FAMILY from Pumula South in Bulawayo has sent an SOS begging for food and other resources after losing its belongings in an inferno recently.

Forty-five-year-old Karota Tsingano said she was struggling to fend for her eight children, who are not in school.

“We are appealing for food because we do not have anything to eat and we are starving,” she said.

“We are staying in a family house, my parents’ house.

“We lost everything we had in the fire. We were already struggling to survive and the inferno made it even worse, hence the SOS to well-wishers and the government.”

She said the family needed at least 30kg of mealie-meal, four litres of cooking oil and three bars of laundry soap per month.

“My children spend the day picking and selling empty bottles and begging from people in caravans and other places,” she said.

“I have eight children and all of them are not in school. Two of my children are epileptic and need medication.”

Tsingano’s family can be contacted on +263 78 389 0220/ +263 71 553 9301.
