A MOTSWANA man, Nhliziyo Butho, teamed up with his accomplices to assault a Zimbabwean on accusations of stealing in the neighbouring country.
They committed the crime in Zimbabwe after tracking the suspect to Plumtree, Matabeleland South province.
Butho was taken to Plumtree Magistrates Courts yesterday.
He appeared before magistrate Joshua Nembaware, who remanded him in custody to January 8 next year.
State prosecutor Voster Makuwerere alleged that on December 23, Butho, in the company of several people who are still at large, armed themselves with various weapons and tracked down the deceased.
They entered the country through an illegal crossing point and caught up with the now-deceased, whom they accused of breaking into their homes and stealing.
They assaulted him and struck him with an axe.
He died upon arrival at a hospital.
