THE Cure Children Hospital of Zimbabwe (CCHZ) is appealing for financial assistance to cover costs of free medical services that it offers.
CCHZ communications officer, Ngqabutho Dube, appealed to local businesses and well-wishers to partner the institution in its quest to remain viable.
Dube said the institution was facing financial challenges which were affecting its operations.
“We are facing challenges here and there and we would appreciate it if there are any well-wishers or local businesses who want to partner us,” he told Southern Eye.
“We are also appealing to those who are willing to assist us financially because as a hospital we do surgeries for free but at the end of the day, we need the means to pay for the operations done in the institution.”
Dube said the institution had recruited more workers after the hospital expanded its bed capacity from 18 to 58.
The hospital has performed approximately 1 700 procedures since the facility was opened in 2021.
CCHZ is the only health facility providing orthopaedic care to children with disabilities in Bulawayo.

It also offers primary and secondary school lessons to learners admitted to the institution to ensure they do not fall behind in their studies.
CCHZ, which is located next to United Bulawayo Hospitals, was established in April 2021.
The hospital was refurbished by the Zimbabwe Orthopaedic Trust in partnership with the government.
