Moyo will serve an effective two years.
A 30-YEAR-OLD man from Chief Bango in Mberengwa has been sentenced to three years in prison for raping a 13-year-old minor.
Believe Moyo appeared before magistrate Charity Tonongera who suspended a year of the sentence on condition that he does not commit a similar offence in the next five years.
Moyo will serve an effective two years.
The court heard that on November 1 last year, Moyo proposed love to the minor who accepted and she eloped with him and they stayed together for four days.
The minor’s grandmother later found her at Moyo’s place and reported the matter to the police, leading to his arrest.
