WOMEN’S Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development minister, Sithembiso Nyoni has passionately begged Bulawayo ward 20 residents to vote for musician-cum-politician Sandra Ndebele-Sibindi on August 23.
Ndebele-Sibindi is aspiring to be the Zanu PF ward 20 councillor.
Nyoni said Ndebele-Sibindi had connections and spoke directly with President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
“I am kindly asking that we rally behind Sandra and support her by voting for her; don’t shy away from her. One important thing is that, you have got someone with connections. Some of the things which make one not to prosper is not having connections. This girl has a connection at the top, she has a direct connection with the President (Mnangagwa),” Nyoni said during her visit to the ward, where she met women in the area.
“She speaks to the President directly because she heads the Young Women for ED. She connects with the ministry of SMEs, that’s why I am here. She connects directly with the Finance minister (Mthuli Ncube) that’s why you saw him here recently. She is a girl who represents her people well.”
Promising that Ndebele-Sibindi would help develop the ward through her connections, Minister Nyoni said it was time to kick out the opposition from Bulawayo because opposition councillors had failed to deliver.
“We gave the opposition a chance to rule Bulawayo but I’m sure you can see that some of these things now want us people in Bulawayo to correct by selecting leaders who are equal to the task. Bulawayo was a sunshine city, it was smart, clean but now you have chosen someone who bathes and is a smart girl who says she wants to start the sunshine city of Bulawayo through ward 20,” she said.
