A COMPANY in Vainona, Harare, reportedly lost US$36 260 last Friday after three armed robbers stormed into its premises and stole the money after attacking a security guard.
In a statement on X, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) said police in Borrowdale are investigating the case, which occurred at around 0215 hours
“Three unidentified male suspects who were armed with unidentified types of pistols, attacked a security guard who was on duty.
“The suspects broke into the company offices where they stole US$36 260.00 cash which was in a safe, two laptops and a bluetooth speaker,” the police statement read.
Meanwhile, Police said they have arrested Bright Chikomo for allegedly attacking a Mabvuku couple and stealing US$30.
“The suspect was positively identified by the wife during the robbery, leading to his arrest. The arrest led to the recovery of a knife which was in the pocket of the suspect’s trousers,” said police.
His alleged accomplice only identified as Digital is currently on the run.
