Mutsvangwa faces indictment at High Court

Mutsvangwa faces criminal charges of illegal forex currency dealings and money-laundering.

ZANU PF spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa’s son, Neville, was remanded to December 4 after the State said it wants the matter to be indicted to the High Court for trial.

Mutsvangwa faces criminal charges of illegal forex currency dealings and money-laundering.

He is jointly charged with Simbarashe Tichingana and Elias Majachani.

The matter was before Harare magistrate Patricia Kamwanda.

Mutsvangwa faces a separate charge of breaching the Telecommunications Act after he was allegedly found in possession of a Starlink router without having a licence.

The case is in court on November 4.

Neville is out of custody on US$1 000 bail.

Mutsvangwa is the first high-profile politically exposed person to be charged with illegal foreign currency dealings after the government launched a crackdown against suspected money changers following the introduction of the new currency, the Zimbabwe Gold, in April this year.
