Logistics and transport conference to unlock Africa's potential

 It is aimed at resolving critical challenges and harnessing growth opportunities in the transportation and logistics sectors across the continent.

THE Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) has announced a stellar line-up of speakers for its upcoming regional logistics and transport conference Logistics and Transport scheduled for November 19 to 21, 2024, at the Nasrec Expo Centre in South Africa.

The conference will run under the theme “Unlocking Sub-Saharan Africa's Potential Transforming Transport and Logistics for a Sustainable Future”.

 It is aimed at resolving critical challenges and harnessing growth opportunities in the transportation and logistics sectors across the continent.

Captains of  industry  from several countries, including CILT Zimbabwe president Tapiwa Mujakachi, Godwin Punungwe, Gerhard van Zyl, Lyn  Chiweshe, Raymond Koffie, Mum Habib, and Mike Daniel, will share invaluable insights on topics such as infrastructure, harmonization, safety, skills development, technology, digitalization, and innovation.

 "We have an exceptional roster of confirmed speakers," said CILTSA president Elvin Harris.

"This conference is not merely about discussing challenges; it's about catalysing real change through the shared wisdom of our local and international experts."

 CILT Zimbabwe Mujakachi said the conference represents a key strategic step in advancing regional connectivity and efficiency in Sub-Saharan Africa's transport and logistics sector.

 “By bringing together experts from various countries, we're fostering a collaborative environment that will drive innovation, address common challenges, and unlock the immense potential of our region. This conference is not just about sharing knowledge; it's about forging partnerships and strategies that will shape the future of logistics and transport in Africa," said.

 The conference will run concurrently with the Futuroad Expo and Automechanika, offering attendees a unique opportunity for networking, learning and collaboration.
