A JOINT operation involving Zimbabwean and Mozambican police officers has led to the recovery of 32 cattle stolen from a Chipinge farmer.
National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident saying the cattle were recovered on July 10.
He said the operation is meant to flush out cattle rustlers in the border areas of the two neighboring countries.
“The cattle which were stolen in Zamuchaya area, Chipinge, were recovered in Mamutse area, Mozambique. The owner, a resident of Mufukwa village, Chipinge, has positively identified the cattle,” Nyathi said.
Meanwhile, police deployed on operation to curb illegal gold mining activities along Mutare River, Penhalonga, have arrested 90 suspects for various illegal mining activities.
The arrest led to the recovery of an assortment of mining equipment including wheelbarrows, shovels, submersible pumps, hammer mills, water pumps and solar panels.
