Church unveils scholarships

The Council for Churches Africa (CCA) has unveiled scholarships for learners wishing to study theology abroad.

CCA leader Bishop Rocky Moyo said this is part of the church’s youth empowerment initiative.

“We have some scholarships for our youths so that they can go abroad and study theology,” Moyo said this during the official opening of an anti-drug conference at the Small City Hall in Bulawayo.

“It is mainly promoting youths in theology. We want you to learn more about God.”

Moyo also encouraged the youth to take up other empowerment initiatives offered by the government.

“From here we will form a committee of youth leaders from all the youth leaders who are here,” he said.

“We will then meet as the provinces to elect the national youth president.

“When all is said and done we want to have a leadership conference for you so that you are inducted.

“Afterwards you will be able to approach government offices and the ruling Zanu PF party.”

He added: “You don’t want to cry and say you are not getting stands, loans, scholarships and so forth.”
