POLICE have named the 19 suspected hooligans linked to the violence that rocked the Highlanders versus Dynamos match at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday.
This came as the Premier Soccer League (PSL) has summoned officials from both teams for a disciplinary hearing on September 26 over the issue.
The match was abandoned at the 37th minute when Bosso fans invaded the pitch in protest over poor officiating, resulting in bloody clashes with police in and outside the stadium.
In a statement, national police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi named the suspects as Raymond Nkomo,(25) , Noboth Sithole, Sylvester Gumbo (30), Sheperd Ncube (26), Wisdom Dube (30), Shepherd Dube (24), Raymond Nkomo (26), Micah Masuku (49), Zibusiso Nkomo (32), Nelson Musengi (27), Brian Moyo (36), Willard Ncube (46), Khumbulani Khumalo (49).
The list also includes: Promise Mbambo (37), Hlakanipha Luphahla (28), Japhet Ncube, Brandon Mpala (27), Ayanda Dube (33) and Prince Moyo (35).”
Nyathi revealed that the suspects, all residents of Bulawayo, would be taken to court soon.
Meanwhile, the PSL has summoned both teams as well as Highlanders player Peter Mudhuwa to appear before a disciplinary committee on September 26.

Matches between these two PSL teams have often ended in violent clashes among supporters.
