BCC announces water supply disruptions

Bulawayo City Council (BCC) has advised residents that they will be water supply disruptions across the city as the local authority attends to pipe leaks.

Bulawayo City Council (BCC) has advised residents that they will be water supply disruptions across the city as the local authority attends to pipe leaks.

In a notice, town clerk Christoher Dube said the water supply interruptions were a result of delays in the completion of leak repairs taking place on the Flowserve line which is affecting raw water deliveries to the Criterion Water Treatment Plant.

“The power outage led to the depletion of reservoirs as a result of reduced pumping for both raw and clear water,” he said.

“The Tuli reservoir has also been affected by a power surge that took place at Ncema on Thursday August 10, 2023 and resulted in two out of five pumps treating water pumps from Ncema to Tuli line, which has been affected.”

Dube said BCC was working on restoring full water delivery as soon as possible.
