Form 3 pupil up for rape

RAPE

A 17-YEAR-OLD boy has been arrested in Tsholotsho on allegations of raping a 14-year-old girl.

Matabeleland North acting police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Christopher Mahohoma said: “Police in Tsholotsho have arrested a Form Three male student (17) (name withheld) on November 21 in connection with a case of rape where a female juvenile (14) was raped.

“On November 19, 2022, the victim went into her classroom looking for her missing Ndebele textbook. She found the suspect seated on top of a desk alone and did not mind his presence as she continued with the search for her textbook.

“During the process the suspect stood up, grabbed the victim by her T-shirt and dragged her into a storeroom which was not locked where he then raped her once. The suspect fled from the scene, but the victim narrated the ordeal to the matron, who then reported the matter to police.”
