With the re-branding of the DStv App to DStv Stream, enhanced viewing experiences are on the horizon for viewers of the platform, MultiChoice has said.
MultiChoice Zimbabwe head of corporate affairs and PR Charity Njanji said in a statement recently that the re-branding was the latest stage in the journey of a product that has been widely embraced by DStv customers of all profiles, not only younger ones.
“DStv Stream, put quite simply, brings the ultimate streaming experience right to viewers’ fingertips as an all-inclusive entertainment platform which includes local and international entertainment, sport and children’s content and allows viewing wherever the viewer happens to be,” Njanji said.
MultiChoice’s technical teams have enhanced the platform with a revamped and even smoother streaming experience featuring a number of innovations. Favourite profiles, account information, viewing history, watch lists, download capabilities, Catch-Up, BoxOffice and live TV are all still available, while additional features have been included.
These include enhanced personalisation enabling discovery of content in viewers’ profiles, a seamless, user-friendly and simpler streaming experience and the ability to switch soundtracks to local languages where available.
DStv Stream enables users to catch up on episodes of shows they have missed, as well as watch boxsets of series, download favourite shows while connected to wi-fi for seamless offline viewing later and personalise viewing resolution for a flawless, data-friendly experience “New subscribers that don’t want to buy a decoder can sign up through www.dstv.com in under five minutes, do not need a dish and require no installation. They need only a smart device and a stable internet connection,” Njanji said.
MultiChoice operates the DStv platform and is available in many African countries.
