Unicaf paves way for quality higher education

Takaendesa encouraged attendees to take advantage of the flexible and accessible higher education provided by Unicaf.

Unicaf hosted a successful Open Day at the Crowne Plaza Monomotapa Hotel as it explores ways to avail quality education for Zimbabweans.

The event  attracted students, professionals, and representatives from diverse organisations eager to explore the educational opportunities offered through the online learning institution's innovative online learning platform.

The event featured Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development minister Monica Mutsvangwa alongside chief director in the ministry Lilian Matsika Takaendesa.

Takaendesa encouraged attendees to take advantage of the flexible and accessible higher education provided by Unicaf.

“Education is not only a right but a pathway to empowerment," she said, expressing the ministry's full support for Unicaf’s initiatives and promising continued backing for similar events in the future.

Unicaf country marketing manager Shimron Nyaude highlighted the event as a critical opportunity for Unicaf to showcase its advanced online learning environment.

“This open day was an eye-opener for many attendees, revealing how Unicaf allows learners to pursue globally recognised qualifications without leaving Zimbabwe,” he stated.

Unicaf partners with prestigious institutions like the University of East London and Liverpool John Moores University, offering degrees at various levels across multiple fields.

The flexibility of the platform resonated with many attendees, especially professionals juggling work and family commitments.

“With Unicaf, I can set my own schedule and study at my own pace,” shared one attendee, reflecting the sentiments of many who value the ability to stay close to family while earning a degree from an esteemed international institution," said one of the students.

A key highlight of the event was the participation of Sibonokuhle Buhlungu, director of Empowered Women Trust, who discussed the partnership with Unicaf formalised through a memorandum of understanding.

The Open Day attracted a diverse audience, including representatives from NGOs and regional partners, as well as individual students who learned about the event through radio invitations.

This gathering fostered dialogue and showcased Unicaf’s commitment to forging strategic partnerships that enhance educational accessibility.

“Unicaf’s established presence across Africa positions us to create synergies with organizations dedicated to advancing education and professional development,” Nyaude noted.

Unicaf’s unique online platform offers degrees in fields critical to today’s job market, including business, healthcare, and technology.

The Open Day underscored how Unicaf’s innovative educational model enables students to avoid traditional barriers associated with studying abroad, such as high costs and visa issues.
