THE ruling Zanu-PF has hinted it will seek to push a constitutional amendment to ban Nelson Chamisa and his CCC from the ballot over its failure to have a constitution and defined structures.
Addressing a post politburo press conference, party spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa, said an amendment to bar any party without a constitution from the polls would be most welcome.
“Now we are being told structures don’t matter, constitutions don’t matter, policies don’t matter, I matter as who Mr. Chamisa, no, no, no we will not accept that, I hope that parliament, we have the majority to do that, before the elections a law should be passed to stop such posit, we can’t accept that, as a country that aspires to run things the way other countries do,” said Mutsvangwa.
Zanu PF’s move to block Chamisa comes after their supporters allegedly violently disrupted a CCC rally in Gokwe Kabuyuni on Thursday injuring 16.

The ruling party has been trying to throw spanners in the path of Chamisa as he guns for presidency in the 2023 watershed general elections.
Chamisa on the other hand held his own press conference, saying he would not be forced to divulge his party structures to Zanu PF, nor would he show them his constitution.
“They are asking for our structures, why do you want our structures, we have not asked for yours, why are you so generous to want us to be so structured so that we defeat you, we want to defeat you structureless without any structure we will defeat you, our structure is known by ourselves and we will not be commandeered into doing what you want us to do, we are a citizen movement, we take all and embrace all,” said Chamisa.
As the race for 2023 hots up, Zanu has unwittingly admitted that it’s turning to churches for votes as its leader is now spending most of his time on his knees at different churches seeking votes.
This comes as President Emmerson Mnangagwa has attended massive church gatherings where he has been prophetically declared the 2023 presidential winner, first in Gokwe’s Defe gathering at Nehemiah Mutendi’s before he went to the Johanne Masowe yechishanu church.
