In a bid to enhance funding for road maintenance, council proposed a significant increase in tariffs on industrial and commercial properties in its 2025 budget.
Speaking during a media briefing at the Council Chambers yesterday, Chafesuka revealed that the council is finalising the tender process “for this significant project”.
The committee members signed integrity pledges, which are expected to strengthen the council’s operating system and help to rid it of the graft scourge.
In a Press statement this week, acting town clerk Blessing Chafesuka said the project was on hold until the Local Government and Public Works ministry endorsed the change of reservation.
