‘Januworr’y woes: Seh Calaz's voice 'fades', Mbeu recovers from accident

The dawn of the new year, typically a time for fresh starts and renewed hope, brought unexpected challenges for two of Zimbabwe's most celebrated musicians: Seh Calaz and Mbeu.

Seh Calaz, renowned for his energetic performances and electrifying stage presence, found himself battling a stubborn illness.

His voice, usually a powerful instrument capable of shaking the foundations of any venue, has unfortunately weakened to a hoarse whisper, casting doubt on his ability to fulfill early January bookings.

Seh Calaz publicly acknowledged his deteriorating health in a Facebook post.

In the post, he informed his loyal fans that he was unwell and struggling to maintain a consistent online presence and engage with them as he usually does.

Sources indicate that the musician has been experiencing health issues since November.

Despite his declining health, he bravely pushed through his December commitments.

Those who attended his recent performances observed a slight decrease in his usual energy and stage presence.

Meanwhile, Mbeu is recovering from a serious car accident.

The impact of the accident was severe, requiring hospitalisation.

Mbeu revealed that he was involved in the accident on January 1.

"On the first of January, just a day before my second-born's birthday,” Mbeu shared.

“I got into a horrible accident and almost lost my life. God gave me another chance.

“I will make it up to you, Imelah Nyahora, for your next birthday. Daddy loves you.

“A life for a life, and since God gave me another chance, I owe him my life. I will rise again and even stronger.”.

Despite these setbacks, a flicker of hope remains. Both artists have found solace in the unwavering support of their fans.

They have also expressed their support for each other on social media.

"Get well soon too, one Bhangwela. You have always been a brother to me from day one," said Mbeu, responding to a message from Seh Calaz.
