Intwasa Arts Festival postponed, again

Organisers have announced that the festival will be rescheduled to a later date

The Intwasa Arts Festival, a once-prominent cultural event in Bulawayo, has been postponed indefinitely due to financial difficulties.

The festival, which was scheduled to take place this month, has faced ongoing challenges in recent years, struggling to attract both local and international artists.

Organisers have announced that the festival will be rescheduled to a later date, with updates to be provided as they become available.

This marks not the first time the event has been postponed, reflecting a decline in its popularity and impact within the city.

"Intwasa Arts Festival koBulawayo wishes to inform all artists, partners, stakeholders, and the general public that the 2024 edition of the festival, originally scheduled for September 25 to 28, 2024 has been postponed to a later date “ reads the statement.

"While the main festival has been postponed, Intwasa will continue to host stand-alone activities throughout the months of October and November 2024.

“These events will keep the spirit of the festival alive and provide ongoing opportunities for artists and audiences to engage with the arts.”
