Online drama series Wadiwa Wepamoyo’s actor Albert Prince Chigiya, popularly known as Tendai in the hit series, has been sucked into a fraud scandal after reports that he duped a woman in a furniture deal.
One of the victims, Nelia Rumbidzai Mutasa, took to social media to share her ordeal.
She stated: “Those who are close to Albert Chigiya please tell him to return my money. He claims he sells furniture. "I gave him my money on April 20, 2024, and since then, it's been one story after another.”
“He claims to have transferred the money into my account but nothing has reflected, and he can't even send a proof of payment. The Glamour Awards, your founder and director is a thief. He is one of the actors of the local series Wadiwa Wemoyo.”
DJ Ollah then hosted a podcast to clarify the issue, contacting both the victim and the accused.
An agreement was reached for them to meet at Hatfield Police Station.
Chigiya responded: “No one contacted me, but I will be at Hatfield Police Station at 3pm to present myself to the police.”
Another social media user Brownskin Girl commented on DJ Ollah’s page: “It’s clear he knows nothing, but trouble.”
“He defrauded me of US$200, claiming to sell beds. He is a coward, busy defrauding ladies. @nellzx2, good job, we didn't know who to tell.”
The actor is not new to fraud accusations, with many accusing him on a number of allegations on social media.
Chigiya plays the troublemaker Tendai, who features as Noku’s old flame and destruction to Noku and Ma Tawa’s relationship.
He is popularly known on social media as Prince Albert.
He is a voice over artist and founder and director of Glam Awards show.
Chigiya went to Manunure High School in Kwekwe before proceeding to the Midlands State University in Gweru.
