Rapper Sinbad 90, born Innocent Stambuli,

RAPPER Sinbad 90, born Innocent Stambuli, has tackled the impoverishment, high unemployment rate and drug abuse in the ghettos in a song titled Westside.

The song which features Grizle is a follow up to his recent release Magheva Iyaya, which features veteran Jnr Brown.

“Westside is all about real life issues and depicting what the youths are facing in the ghetto,” he said.

“We face a lot of straining issues on a daily basis; youths are unemployed and the few who are employed are getting peanuts; close to nothing.

“Those who are unemployed are getting into drugs and criminal activities and young ladies are being forced into prostitution by poverty.

“We have many situations where young women have been forced into early marriages and  have been exposed to HIV and AIDS and teen pregnancies.”

The rapper, who hails from Kadoma, Mashonaland West used Westside to namedrop where he comes from.

“Westside represents my province Mashonaland West, we are talking about situations that we encounter on a daily basis in our province and I am sure that other areas in Zimbabwe are also encountering such and more issues,” he added.

Sinbad 90 is the founder of Dollasign Music  Africa, he also has songs such as Boyz Remukute, They Know and Chiguruguru.

The rapper is currently working on an album dubbed Bhundu lifestyle which speaks of his daily hustle between Zimbabwe and Zambia where he works at the Chirundu border post.

“Bhundu also means jungle and it will portray the real life of Sinbad 90 as well as Innocent Stambuli. There are motivational tracks that push the youths to work hard in any way,” he said.

“There are tracks that also talk of the hustles associated with gold panners where I come from in Kadoma.”
