Log leaders Ngezi Platinum Stars extended their lead at the top of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League standing to four points after an emphatic win over ZPC Kariba at Nyamhunga yesterday.
Striker Takunda Benhura scored a first half brace that set the platinum miners on course for a big win, which saw them increase their lead above Highlanders who were inactive.
Delic Murimba killed the match as a contest with a third goal early in the second half.
Ngezi Platinum now have 48 points from 24 matches.
The visitors coach Takesure Chiragwi was happy with the performance.
"I want to applaud the boys for being victorious. We thank God for winning and our prayer is for the team to continue with this spirit,” he said.

Benhura opened the account after just 12 minutes before scoring a scorcher 10 minutes before the break.
The hosts had a chance to pull one back on the stroke of half time but Samuel Makawa failed to score.
Murimba put the icing on the cake with a 56th minute strike.
ZPC Kariba coach Luke Masomere admitted that his side was outplayed.
“It was not our day. We played well in all departments though eventually we got overpowered. We will prepare for our next games and make sure we are safe from relegation,” he said.
