Duo drops 3 singles in 2 months

Obert (Omarivibes) Mandizira

UP-AND–COMING musicians Obert (Omarivibes) Mandizira (34) and Nicky Tana (25) say they will continue churning out more music hits after the duo released three singles — two love songs and one gospel song — in two months.

The duo is  impressed by the fact that the songs have all garnered hundreds of views on social media platforms in a space of two months.

Speaking to NewsDay Life & Style, the two said after scrutinising each other’s music, they decided to join hands.

“We met up at DanMag Studios after we heard each other’s music in the studio and we agreed to work together just to push our careers. So for this year, we have managed to do three singles, two love songs and a gospel one,” Mandizira said.

“The motivation behind our first song Ndokuda is the fact that we were urging people to express love to the one person they love wholeheartedly and we just thought that this was the right time to release the song in January, as we approached February, the month of love.”

He said they released the second single Wakati Uchanditengera Maruva, a love song, on Valentine’s Day.

The duo said the gospel song beseeched God to give them the strength to overcome life’s challenges.

“We also released a single called Kudai Zvaibvira, a plea to God to alter some of the situations we face in life. We record all these tracks at DanMag Studios in Bulawayo and produced by Hardmag THM Beats,” Mandizira said.

He said they had been doing well so far and people were loving their music.

Other artistes are asking for collaborations with the duo, said Mandizira, “and it is a great achievement”.

“We really want to work with other big artistes as well. We are also looking for sponsors and managers for our music. If people want our music, they can check on YouTube, Facebook and Tik Tok,” he said.

“We have also managed to feature together with many artistes in a track called Love Is A Beautiful Thing by Daddy Lala recorded at BMC records. We are doing a lot so that our music goes out to many people.”
