Ngwena made Edgar Moyo, formerly in charge of the Energy and Power Development ministry, and July Moyo, previously superintending the Public, Labour and Social Welfare ministry, to swap portfolios.
The Energy minister, however, highlighted the urgent need to expedite the execution of the Batoka and Devil's Gorge Hydroelectric Schemes (BGHES and DGHES).
According to the SI, Energy and Power Development minister Edgar Moyo made these changes after consulting with the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority.
Moyo said the Rural Electrification Fund (REF) was working to provide reliable electricity power supply to rural areas through a 6% levy on all electricity sales.
Moyo said the solar energy project was a step forward in government’s efforts to combat climate change and reduce carbon emissions to ensure a sustainable planet for future generations.
