Midlands police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the two were attacked by a group of eight people with axes and machetes.

“The incident occurred at Village Matsikidze under Chief Gobo, Silobela on August 4 at around 8pm,” Mahoko said.
