A SHAMVA man could not stomach his girlfriend's infidelity after he caught her being intimate with another man at a local bar.
The now deceased Steria Chaponda (27) was fatally assaulted by her boyfriend Kennedy Mwaliwanda (37) with open hands.
Mashonaland Central deputy police spokesperson Tonny Nyandoro confirmed the case.
"I can confirm a murder case in Wadzanai Shamva where a man fatally assaulted his girlfriend in a domestic dispute," Nyandoro said.
Allegations are that on June 1, Mwaliwanda was informed that his girlfriend was being intimate with another man at a local bar.
After confirming, he went home and waited for his girlfriend’s return.
When Chaponda arrived home later, a heated dispute ensued and Mwaliwanda assaulted her.
Chaponda sustained serious injuries, and a day later, she complained of stomach problems and the boyfriend bought her fresh milk to drink.
After drinking the milk, she vomited and collapsed.
Mwaliwanda went to inform the deceased's friend who came to the scene and found Chaponda dead.
Police warned couples to desist from resorting to violence and instead seek counselling when they have disputes.
