Bulawayo comedian Dumisani Hubert Ndlovu, aka MaForty, is set to give comedy lovers a treat with his one-man comedy show titled Mama’s Boy Grownish at Jasen Mphepo Little Theatre in Harare next month.

This show is MaForty’s celebration of his 35th birthday, which was on January 31 and will be presented by Jasen Mphepo Little Theatre and LOL Entertainment Zimbabwe.

“Mama’s Boy Grownish is MaForty’s 51st Man show,” MaForty’s public relations team said.

“The first one being, MaForty’s Road to 30 in 2017 followed by Press Conference in 2018, then Ghetto Salad in 2020 (his first sold-out show) and last year’s sold out show I am Not Mad.

“This show is MaForty’s celebration of his 35th birthday, which was on January 31.

“The show will take you through MaForty’s life and relationship with his mom specifically.”

The team said the show would highlight the moments and the bond mothers and their sons share.

“Comedy that represents us, our stories, our lives and fantasies, as the Brand MaForty seeks to have us share some of our humanity together with jokes, funny stories and ridiculous re-enactments of some of our stories as humans,” said the team.

“The show is named Mama’s Boy Grownish because there is a child in every one of us and MaForty wants or will bring up his childish thoughts that still pop up at 35 years of age.

“Maybe this is an opportunity that MaForty hopes to sit down with his family and friends and tell them when he is getting married.”

The team said is hoping the comedian’s mother would fly from the Diaspora to attend the show.

The show will also be held in Bulawayo on April 23.
