Lani Lunah opens up on her musical odyssey and the power of authentic storytelling

Born Qaphelani Armstrong Nyoni, the singer-songwriter has been honing her craft for years, and her music is a testament to her dedication and passion.

In an industry where authenticity is paramount, Lani Lunah is creating a stir with her soulful voice and meaningful lyrics.

Lani's musical style is a fusion of RnB/Soul, with hints of Gospel and Hip-hop.

Her songs are deeply personal, drawing from her own experiences and emotions. "My music is akin to soul food," she explains. "It is authentic and relatable storytelling that resonates with people on a deeper level."

Her debut album, Oasis, is a masterpiece of storytelling, with songs like Just a Child and Oasis showcasing her ability to craft narratives that are both poignant and uplifting.

The album is available on all major music platforms, and Lani is thrilled to share her music with the world.

Despite her talent and dedication, Lani has faced her fair share of challenges in the industry. "I have relinquished my pursuit of music more than three times," she admits.

"However, my passion for music persists. I have learnt that to grow as an artist, one must be exposed to diverse environments and collaborate with fellow artists."

Lani's counsel to young and aspiring artists is to remain true to themselves and their art.

"The industry can be unpredictable, and one never knows what transpires in someone's mind," she cautions. "However, if one remains focused and committed to their craft, they will be able to navigate the vicissitudes."

With new music on the horizon, including a gospel track entitled Ungihawukele, Lani Lunah is an artist to watch.

Her unique sound, captivating stage presence, and authentic storytelling make her a rising star in the music industry.

As we delve deeper into Lani's world, it becomes clear that her music is not just a form of self-expression, but also a way to connect with others.

 "I believe that music has the power to heal and uplift," she says. "I want my music to be a source of comfort and inspiration for those who listen to it."

Lani's passion for music is evident in every aspect of her being. From the way she speaks about her craft to the way she performs on stage, it is clear that music is not just a part of her life, but her very essence.

As we discussed her musical influences, Lani cited a range of artists, from classic soul singers like Aretha Franklin and Etta James to contemporary artists like Erykah Badu and Kendrick Lamar, stating:  "I am drawn to artists who are unapologetically themselves," she explains. "I believe that authenticity is key to creating music that truly resonates with people."

Lani's own music is evidence to this philosophy. Her songs are deeply personal, drawing from her own experiences and emotions. "I write about what I know and what I have lived through," she says. "I believe that is where the best music comes from."

As she spoke about her songwriting process, Lani reveals that she's a bit of a perfectionist. "I can spend hours working on a single song," she admits. "I want every lyric and every melody to be just right."

This attention to detail is evident in every aspect of Lani's music, from the production quality to the lyrics themselves. Her songs are meticulously crafted, with each element working together to create a cohesive and impactful whole.

With regards to her plans for the future, Lani reveals that she is working on new music, including a forthcoming album. "I'm really excited about the direction my music is taking," she says. "I feel like I'm growing and evolving as an artist, and I'm eager to share that with my fans."

As our conversation came to a close, Lani reflected on the journey that has brought her to this point. "It has  been a lot of hard work and perseverance," she says. "But it has  all been worth it. I am living my dream, and I feel grateful every day."
