It was just a joke, says Ndoyisile

Zimbabwean born South Africa-based influencer Ndumiso "Ndoyisile" Sibindi went viral with him ranting about Tembisa residents flooding the Mall of Africa in Midrand, Johanesburg.

Social media has been ablaze this past week after a video of famous Zimbabwean born South Africa-based influencer Ndumiso "Ndoyisile" Sibindi went viral with him ranting about Tembisa residents flooding the Mall of Africa in Midrand, Johanesburg.

"You want to tell me that you guys leave your mall in Tembisa, if there is a mall in Tembisa, to come and overcrowd Mall of Africa?," he said in the video

“People are just gallivanting and occupying the mall for no reason. It’s so uncomfortable for us who are claustrophobic.”

Ndoyisile received a lot of backlash despite later apologising and stating that he viewed his utterances as a joke and that he did not mean to offend anyone and said that the joke was centred around him explaining to his followers why he could not vlog inside the mall.

South Africans rushed to question Ndoyisile on whether he was living legally in the country with some stating that he was getting too comfortable in South Africa and called for his deportation.

Social Media influencer, ChrisExcel (@ChrisExcel102) said " Is he on study visa or is he a citizen?"

South African Tik Toker and Comedian @The_Beanie_Guy_Sgobe said "Ndoyisile is a foreigner despite feeling so entitled. He keeps trending for all the wrong reasons. He once trended for bad relations with his landlord, then the bonnet selling saga and also when he trended for duping a man out of R10 000," he said in a reaction video.

Ironically, most Zimbabweans instead of showing support rather said they do not know Ndoyisile.

In response, about his nationality and the legitimacy of his documents.

“I’ve never been ashamed of where I come from. I was born and raised in Habane township in Esigodini," he said.

"I’m proud of my roots, and I’m not hiding anything.”

Ndoyisile defended his content saying that it had a lot of dark humour and satire.
