South Africa-based entertainment hub, Underground Entertainment, will next month host an awards ceremony meant to “honour the incredible contributions of music artistes who have significantly impacted the industry”.
According to the organisers, the inaugural Underground Entertainment will take place on July 12 at the “ceremonial home of Zimbabwean music” Newton Music Factory in Johannesburg.
“The Underground Entertainment Awards are a unique celebration of the vibrant music scene, particularly recognising the outstanding support from the fans of Zimbabwean music in South Africa,” said the awards’ publicist Munashe Rungano.
“Over the years, these fans have been instrumental in elevating local artistes, and this event is a tribute to their unwavering support.”
Munashe said a panel comprising music personalities has selected the nominees, while fans will play a pivotal role in voting for the winners, ensuring a true reflection of the community's voice.
“The night promises to be an unforgettable experience with performances by sungura music legend Alick Macheso, Isimbi Zezhwane, Jah Seed, and many other renowned artistes,” he said.
“The event will be a glamorous red carpet affair with no restrictions on attire, but guests are encouraged to dress to impress.
“For those seeking an exclusive experience, VVIP tickets are available for purchase online at Computicket.
