MUSICIAN Jeys Marabini and Black Umfolosi member Sotja Moyo are set to stage their first show together dubbed The Day 364 Experience to be held at The Oasis on December 30 which represents unity and diversity.
Jeys Marabini “reigning” as uGodlwayo Yithi will be representing the Ndebele/Nguni culture while Sotja Moyo as BuKalanga Pride will represent the Kalanga culture on the day.
The two outfits met after Marabini staged a scintillating performance during the Jeys Marabini: Extraordinary Welcome Back Show in November and Sotja back from a four-month tour with Black Umfolosi where they performed in Europe, USA and Canada.
“This is a thanksgiving show where we celebrate the end of a successful year. As musicians, we should be in the forefront in showing unity and diversity and this show promotes that. I represent the Kalanga culture while Jeys represents the Ndebele/ Nguni culture,”Sotja told The Standard Style.
Sotja said he feels excited to share the stage with Jeys and hinted that a collaboration was in the pipeline.
In addition Sotja said he will share his music from yesteryear- both traditional and contemporary sound.
“I will sample songs from the following albums, Dabilani, Babakidzani, Tjaba Tjangu(My nation), Lebani Lebeswa, Mabuyani, Lunyalalo/Kunyalala, Gwendo and KuGokwe.
“I will also do something from my new and upcoming single called Tibakalanga Zwedu,” he said.
