THE once-bullet-speeded former Paralympian gold medalist, Elliot Mujaji, has made a heartfelt appeal to Sir Wicknell Chivayo for a car in recognition of his remarkable achievements as an athlete and administrator.
Mujaji, a Zvishavane-based sports icon, has apologised for taking his plea public, but his desperation for a car is evident. In a letter obtained by The Standard Sport, Mujaji humbly penned a note hoping that it reached out to Sir Wickenell and catch his attention.
"Dear Sir Wicknell, it's me Elliot Mujaji now," Mujaji wrote.
"Pardon if I may have used a wrong platform, which may have tickled your ego and persona. Maybe my name is still on the next page, awaiting to be flipped over."
Mujaji's words are laced with a mix of humility and determination. Despite being a one-handed athlete, he has achieved greatness, and his plea is a testament to his perseverance.
"I have been trying to raise my hands higher, but I forgot that I only have one hand," Mujaji quipped.
"You probably failed to notice it from a distance. Good things come to those who wait, and in the same realm, a child who doesn't cry will die on the mother's back."
Mujaji's story is one of inspiration and resilience. As a Paralympian champion, he has broken barriers and defied odds. His current role as an administrator and the head d coach for the National Paralympian side is a testament to his dedication to the sport.
