TENNIS Zimbabwe vice-president Glory Gijima has received a vote of confidence from the Confederation of African Tennis (CAT), following her appointment as a member of the advantage all committee.

Gijima joins  the prestigious committee tasked with increasing the participation of women and girls in sport on the continent.

Confirming the appointment, CAT president, Jean-Claude Talon expressed confidence on Gijima handling the post to perfection.

"I am pleased to inform you that the executive committee of the CAT has decided to nominate you as member of the CAT Advantage All Africa Commission for the years 2024 and 2025," wrote Talon.

"I would like to inform you that the nomination of all the members on this commission was based on the information received by the CAT and its executive committee, which is convinced that the skills, experience and passion of all the nominated members will help the CAT to enhance the roles and responsibilities of women and to achieve gender equality on and off tennis courts as outlined in our Constitution."

The commission is chaired by CAT Advantage All Africa Commissioner Fatime Kanté of Seychelles.

The other members include Salma Mouelhi-Guizani of Tunisia, Rashika Aboushousha (Egypt), Zaida Erna Beukes (South Africa), Zenabu Soulemana (Ghana) and Dalale Lachkar (Morocco).

“On that purpose, I would like to congratulate you on my personal name and on behalf of all Members of the CAT Executive Committee wishing you a great success in your mission,” added Talon.
