It wasn’t me, says Wicknell Chivayo

CONVICTED fraudster, Wicknell Chivayo, says claims that he is a womaniser, who has been splashing money to even get married women were cooked up by his detractors

Chivayo’s alleged sordid tale of infidelity involving several women was laid bare last week after his Instagram account was hacked.

The women include Maxine Adam, wife of “prophet” Edd Branson, and Anesu Chari, wife of another preacher, Prophet Evidence Chari,  among others.

Several private messages with various women, including singer Shashl by Chivayo were posted across multiple platforms.

Chivayo yesterday posted  a lengthy statement on social media disowning the Instagram account  and accusing unidentified people of being behind an alleged plot to tarnish his name.

“For the record, not everything requires a response, but this continued relentless attack on my personal standing, coordinated character assassination of high-profile people, and defamation of purely innocent women using my name can never be tolerated or ignored!” Chivayo wrote.

He went on to explain that the screenshots were “malicious fabrications” generated by criminals who failed in their attempt to extort him.

Chivayo claimed that multiple fake social media accounts were impersonating him, including “sirwicknellfanpage,” “chivayowicknell,” and “wicknell_chivayo.” He went on to apologise to the families of those caught up in the scandal.

“I extend my deepest apologies to all those individuals, known and unknown to me, who have been adversely affected by these messages and regret the damage that this may have caused them, their partners or families,” he added.

“I particularly share my sincere remorse to prophet Dr Edd Branson, his family and church for the anxiety which these provocative and defamatory yet untruthful messages may have caused.”

Chivayo’s ex-wife, Sonja Madzikanda, took to social media, seemingly revelling in the turmoil following the hack.

The controversial businessman last month claimed that an audio recording where he is heard bragging that President Emmerson Mnangagwa was in his pockets was created by his detractors using artificial intelligence.
