Prophet Madungwe to perform community service for traffic offences

SELF-STYLED prophet Talent Madungwe

SELF-STYLED prophet Talent Madungwe has been ordered to perform 105 hours of community service for committing two traffic offences two months ago.

Madungwe appeared at the Epworth Magistrate’s Court where he was convicted of negligent driving and without a licence. As a result , he encroached into the lane of a car travelling in the opposite direction on a strip road in Hatfield, Harare.

In a statement on Wednesday, the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe said, on August 6 this year at around 10.20am, Madungwe was driving a Toyota Aqua car when he sideswiped a Nissan NP300 single cab heading to Harare.

“The vehicle sustained minor damage on the load box…The accused was driving without a valid license,” said the NPAZ. On the first count, Madungwe was sentenced to a wholly suspended term of four months in prison on condition of good behaviour and that he does not commit a similar offence for a period of five years. On count two, the controversial preacher was given six months imprisonment, with three suspended for five years and the other three suspended if he completes 105 hours of community service.
