A HARARE woman, who is facing charges of culpable homicide following an accident that claimed two lives will know her fate today.

Linah Govere (34) from Epworth will know her fate when Harare provincial magistrate Ntombizodwa Sibanda rules on the case today.

Prosecutor Farai Makuyana alleged that on March 16 last year, Govere, a holder of valid Zimbabwean driver’s licence, negligently drove a private motor vehicle, a Nissan Caravan, due east along Robert Mugabe Road using the oncoming traffic lane.

On approaching a certain point close to the intersection of Robert Mugabe and Bodle Avenue, Govere allegedly failed to keep a proper look out on the road and hit an Isuzu vehicle that was giving way to the traffic coming from the east.

Govere’s vehicle rolled three times and landed on its roof resulting in the death of a minor aged three and Dadirai Nyangwete (45), while 16 people were injured.

The casualties were rushed to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals where they were pronounced dead.
