Mutsvangwa commits to support marketers

Mutsvangwa made the remarks at the 14th Annual Marketers Convention in Victoria Falls where marketing professionals, industry experts and thought leaders from diverse sectors drawn from around the country are meeting.

WOMEN’s Affairs, Community, Small to Medium Enterprises Development minister Monica Mutsvangwa yesterday said her ministry was committed to supporting marketers and the profession in driving production, productivity and profitability of local companies.

Mutsvangwa made the remarks at the 14th Annual Marketers Convention in Victoria Falls where marketing professionals, industry experts and thought leaders from diverse sectors drawn from around the country are meeting.

“The role of marketing, PR and communications in growing the Zimbabwean economy is indispensable and the ministry remains committed to supporting the organisation and the profession,” Mutsvangwa, who is the patron of the Marketers Association of Zimbabwe, said.

“As we go about our duties, we must also remain cognisant of the rise of data analytics and artificial intelligence as technology continues to take centre stage.

“Artificial intelligence allows businesses to tailor their messages and offerings to individual consumer preferences with remarkable precision. The rise of immersive technologies like virtual reality and augmented reality continue to create new opportunities for interactive and engaging marketing experiences.”

She urged marketers to recognise and support SMEs as they are key drivers of the economy.

“SMEs are a crucial aspect of our economy that often goes unnoticed. These sectors play a significant role in driving economic growth, creating employment opportunities, and fostering innovation. As marketers, it is our responsibility to recognise their potential and support their development,” she said.

The theme for this year’s convention is The future is now-Marketing, PR, Communications Winning through Sustainability and Innovation.

The conference seeks to provide a platform for marketers, advertisers, communications, and PR people to exchange ideas, share insights, and discuss the latest trends and strategies in their evolving fields.
