CHIDO Musasiwa a prominent marketer and Agora Zimbabwe president says her much advertised Harareton Gala Ball was a resounding success.
The Harareton Gala Ball drew distinguished guests who included the president of Agora Club Zambia Veronica Mwiche, president of Ladies Circle Zimbabwe Nyaradzo Viki, Round Table president Ross Logan and Agora Club Botswana vice-president of the Baobab Club Emeldar Omar, among several business leaders from in and around Zimbabwe.
Musasiwa credits the success of the well attended event to the donor community and the corporate world.
Musasiwa, who extended her creative prowess from her reputable Let Them Festival Brand coaxed merrymakers to pay US$44,99 for entry to the Harareton Gala Ball which was held on September 7 at the Cresta Lodge Hotel.
As she had no change, the charge was negotiated to US$45.
Musasiwa believes that through the Agora, a regional co-operation for advocacy, friendly and empowering environments for women are achievable.
Through Agora Zimbabwe, Musasiwa has challenged communities to help in the rehabilitation of victims of drug and substance abuse with evidence showing the scourge has also affected women.
In other cycles it has emerged that the best way of handling a crisis is to look for a neutral, persuasive and inclusive entertaining profile activity that brings people together.
By the same token, Musasiwa has also helped in the betterment of lives for the socially displaced people and the less privileged. Musasiwa added that she had gained enough experience to demand integrity in all her business ventures.
She directs Chido Advertising, Let Them Festival and Agora Zimbabwe.
Harareton Gala Ball!
I'm honoured to lead Agora Club Zimbabwe, a vibrant women's organisation dedicated to friendship, community service and personal growth.
Founded in 2016 and chartered in 2018, our club brings together like-minded women aged 42 and above who share a passion for building meaningful connections and making a positive impact.
Our mission is to build, promote and co-ordinate friendships through networking, while empowering communities through service. We're proud to be part of the global Agora Club International and Round Table family, embracing values of friendship, service, empowerment, tolerance and networking.
Agora achievements
I would like to share as well as celebrate some of our charitable work conducted over the years including Eyes for the World, donating reusable pads nationwide, laptops to Salem Children’s Home and I’m excited to share that Rafiki Girls Centre will also benefit from laptops and a solar. We have also supported Danai and Harare children's homes.
Future plans
Looking ahead to 2024-2025, my vision as president is to expand our membership, fostering a strong community of like-minded individuals passionate about service and friendship. We'll build bridges and nurture relationships locally and internationally as is happening today with our sisters from Zambia, Botswana, Ladies Circle Zimbabwe and Round Table.
Our current partnership with Rafiki Girls Centre, aligns perfectly with our motto, "Building for Sustainable Growth." Rafiki is a platform where young girls are empowered to look after themselves with the skillset they are learning. This gala is a crucial step in our fundraising efforts for Rafiki Girls Centre. Your support will help us to purchase essential items on their wishlist, making a tangible difference in the lives of young women. Together, we'll drive positive change, support meaningful causes and create lasting bonds.
Parting note
We would like to see the Agora Club of Zimbabwe continue to grow as it has already impacted positively on several women.
Our regional counterparts are equally doing well and we would like to have a universally acceptable standard across the board. I would like to challenge all those women at the age of 42 and above to join the Agora Club to Unlock their social and economic potentials. It is high time we had more women becoming self-sustained and occupying more influential positions.
