ZAS 2024 preparations in full swing

The show will be held from August 26 to 31, 2024 under the theme “Cultivating Prosperity. Growing Business. Innovating for Change. Nurturing our future.”

PREPARATIONS for the 114 edition of the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show (ZAS) are progressing well, with 289 total number of exhibitors confirmed participation, NewsDay Business can report.

The show will be held from August 26 to 31, 2024 under the theme “Cultivating Prosperity. Growing Business. Innovating for Change. Nurturing our future.”

Addressing the media at a press briefing held in Harare on Thursday, ZAS chief executive officer Andrew Matibiri said the show will feature more than 560 exhibitors,

“I am pleased to announce that the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show 2024 will feature more than 560 exhibitors, occupying over 78 224m2 of exhibiting space. The total number of confirmed exhibitors so far is 282 locals plus seven foreign, bringing the  total to 289 and has to date taken up 58 483,96m2,” he said.

“On the ground, intense activities and efforts by stakeholders from various sectors of the economy are pointing toward a successful agricultural show,”

The organisation is expecting a huge turnout of over 250 000 visitors across Zimbabwe and the region from various sectors of the economy,

“We anticipate a remarkable turnout of over 250 000 visitors from across Zimbabwe and the region, representing a diverse audience of commercial farmers, small scale producers, agro processors, input suppliers, government officials , agricultural research institutions and aspiring entrepreneurs,” Matibiri said.

“This year’s event will offer unparalleled opportunities for networking, knowledge –sharing, and forging invaluable connections within the industry.”

In addition to the diverse captivating exhibition, Matibiri mentioned that ZAS is expected to host a series of targeted business events, including the business conferences and networking sessions,

“These specialised forums will create valuable opportunities for exhibitors , visitors and industry stakeholders to engage in meaningful discussions , explore potential partnerships , identify new avenues for business expansion , and discover innovative solutions that address the evolving agricultural needs of the agricultural ecosystem,” he said .                         

ZAS has placed emphasis on providing the latest technology security during the show to ensure public safety and it is also working with various stakeholders to ensure that everything is in place ahead of the show.
